Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect the minimum we need to run the site and fulfil your digital purchases, we never sell your data, and you can see, correct or delete what we hold on you at any time.
What we collect
When you create an account or purchase a digital product, we store your name and email address so we can provide the service and contact you about it. When you contact us or submit a trip enquiry, we keep a record of your message and the details you provide. We do not sell your personal data — ever.
Purchases and payments
When you buy a Ride It Yourself digital route pack, we record your order (product purchased, price paid, payment status and date) and create an entitlement that lets you access your files. Card payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. — The Road Ahead does not receive or store your full card details. We store a Stripe customer identifier and, where applicable, Stripe receipt or invoice links so you can view your receipts.
Digital supply consent
When you purchase a digital route pack, we record that you consented to immediate supply of the digital content and acknowledged the consequence for your cancellation rights, together with the date, the consent wording version, and a durable snapshot of the consent text that applied to your purchase. We keep this as evidence of your agreement to that transaction.
Analytics
We use privacy-conscious analytics to understand which pages are read and which tools are used. This helps us improve the site. It is aggregated and not used to identify you personally.
Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. Optional analytics cookies can be declined. We do not use cookies to sell your data to third parties.
Affiliate tracking
Affiliate links may set cookies so partners can attribute a sale. These are governed by each partner's privacy policy. We track anonymised click data (which link, which page) to understand what is useful — never your identity.
When you make a purchase we send you transactional emails about your order and access (payment received, tour ready, refund confirmation). If you subscribe, we send you updates about new routes, guides and tools. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails with a single click. We do not share your email with third parties for marketing.
Security and your rights
We use security and fraud-prevention controls (such as bot detection and rate limiting) to protect forms and checkout. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. UK and EU users have rights under the GDPR; we honour them. You can delete your account in-app from Profile → Delete Account, or via our account deletion page.
